Cleaning Quartz and Engineered Stone

Quartz counter top photoHere are a few things to know before you start cleaning quartz worktops. Engineered stone and quartz counters are basically the same thing. They are man made from natural quartz and a bonding resin. Popular applications around the home are kitchen worktops and vanity vanity tops. These worktops are extremely durable and are not non-porous, so they do not require the level of care and preventative measures that some natural stones call for. Unlike most natural stones, quartz is resistant to stains because it is non-porous, which also makes it safe for food preparation areas. While not as much care is necessary for engineered quartz worktops, it is still important to use a good surface cleaner that is safe for food preparation areas, meaning it is free of harsh and/or abrasive chemicals. A mild dish soap is safe to use, but is likely to build up, leaving a residue behind that will dull and blur the surface of the countertop. A 100% natural cleaner does not pose a threat to the health of your family or pets, and our specialized formula will not only clean kitchen worktops, but will also leave a streak free shine every time.

What is quartz:

Second only to feldspar, quartz is one of the most abundant minerals in the earthʼs continental crust. There are many different varieties of quartz, including several semi- precious gemstones. Pure quartz, traditionally called rock crystal, is colorless and transparent. Common colors include citrine, rose quartz, amethyst, and smoky quartz. Quartz is an essential constituent of granite as well as other igneous rocks. It is naturally resistant to weathering and extremely durable.
